MARY FARRELL NEW ZEALAND
Tell us what style of tunic/top is your favourite and why you would love Kathleen to design and make one exclusively for you:
Opium intoxicates me especially in a crush v neck swing tunic – the flowing lines of Kathleen’s wonderful pieces of wearable art make me feel young and beautiful again!
Congratulations : you are a winner !
I do know from your entry that your colour preferences is opium/plum shades
Do you like any prints/lace/mesh/trims? Or preference for plains?
Opium + black + a bit of something mesh/lacey? As a trim or pocket?
Sleeves..short…elbow length…long..? V neck ? A good swingy shape
Mary, if you give m a few hints then I will email you a picture of a few fabrics and trims and then I will work from that.

Oh oh oh oh (whoops of incredible delighted excitement!!!) Dancing around! How absolutely wonderful!! Thank you sooo much.
I would love a plain opium tunic with perhaps a black mesh trim of some kind – elbow length sleeves – v neck and swingy – I am 165cms tall and a size 18-20 with large boobs and hips, so nothing too low or clingy as I don’t think older ladies should show cleavage!!
Oh Kathleen, I am SUPER excited – this is like a dream come true!!
Thank you so so much and I am very happy you liked my book! Much love and talk soon – Mary xxx
Hi Mary, Oh what wonderful excitement from you!
I will email you picture of a couple of black meshy trims with the opium fabric and ideas .
What size in Kathleen Berney do you wear?
Hi Kathleen, That’s fantastic – am still so excited! And yes of course it’s OK to use anything about me on Social Media. I wear XXL and my favourite ever tunic of yours is the opium and black block top. I love clothes that give me the illusion of being leaner and longer!! The less fussy the better – oh and I think short sleeves would be good.
Hi Mary, idea: the stripe trim is a viscose spandex which tones very well with opium and black. The other trim is a leathery look fabric. I think it looks good with black back. Kathleen
Love it Kathleen! Absolutely gorgeous! And really unique. Would it be thigh length?
We will be away on our bucket list trip and I want you to know EVERYTHING I am packing is by your lovely self, apart from my underwear and swimsuits!! thank you so much again – Mary
I first came across your label at The Mill house in Auckland, shortly after emigrating in the 1990s – not sure of the date. Annette showed me the most beautiful purple tunic with a shawl collar and I fell in love with it! I bought three, the purple, black and a colour called donkey. I still wear them! I love the light crushed material, the fluidity of the cut and the shapes and how they suit the curvy body. As a psychotherapist in private practice, it’s important for me to look good, and to be very comfortable sitting all day!
From those first three, my collection grew! I would wait for new KB arrivals every season.
My KB garments have travelled to Tahiti, Rarotonga, Samoa and the USA – the most memorable experience wearing KB has to be on this latest trip to St Kitts and Nevis – it was a perfect starry night – our last in St Kitts – and Bill (my husband) and I were celebrating our 39 year long relationship. It was the most stunning night at a restaurant right on the edge of the Caribbean and a light trade wind was blowing. I was wearing KB pants and the black patch split tunic from your current collection – I felt loved and beautiful and in paradise!
Oh Kathleen – Thank you SO much again for my custom tunic – I absolutely LOVE it!
Just the most perfect tunic I have ever worn! Everything about it delights me – thank you
Whoops – so excited I pressed send before the message was finished. I adore the simplicity and eccentricity of it and the elegance and uniqueness – I AM SO PROUD TO WEAR IT – THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! I feel so absolutely ME in it! much love and appreciation – Mary
